Watchmen was sweet.

I'm not a fan of political correctness. I have a post coming up that deals with the sensitivity of today's world.

"Gay" just means something to me that it will always mean and I will always use along with millions of other our age. No one will change it, except time. It's not used by the generation younger than us, so you just have to wait until our generation flushes out.

I agree ssjrem there's better books out there. I thought Watchmen was a better read than New Moon. However, I think vampires are cooler than werewolves. Haha as gay as you think the sparkle thing is it makes sense(But I do agree, I could do without the sparkle). And as "gay" as it is it helps vampires become the ultimate killing machines. Speed, strength, and sparkle man.

Of course people compare others to fictional characters. That happens every time we see a movie. Sometimes we wish the people actually exist. What we supposed to do get rid of fiction? Don't worry I'm not going to become Edward anytime soon. If people let movies shape who they are they're morons. By the way, Edward and Jacob are not ideal guys. They can be at times but they're not. In fact when I asked my sister which one she liked better she said that she hated both of them. I think the main character Bella is an ideal girl. She's not needy, she's attractive, she cooks and does stuff around the house, and she loves unconditionally. I want that girl. Right back at the women. It doesn't help their chances either. Of course more women have seen this movie than guys as you have pointed out.

It just occured to me. Maybe uh Twilight would be a good tag haha.

Haha I couldn't really think of any good tags. Basically both you and ssjrem are getting at the point that reading Twilight is not manly. That's why your dick told(I hope your dick actually doesn't talk) you that Twilight is gay because you are a man and Twilight is targeted for women. In this instence you're right but don't call it gay. That's degrading to people who really are gay. It's also not wrong to read something like that because you are a guy.

Also, though you are right about the dulled down vampires and werewolves, you would not want to fuck with them. You would still die.

Haha, I was never a big fan of the vampire/werewolf stuff so it doesn't appeal to me. I see where the interests stems since it is the most popular thing out there right now and it does involve werewolves/vampires. Interesting that horror icons became so mainstream. I feel like those two creatures lost a certain quality when they did become less... terrifying I guess. There's nice vampies and werewolves now, of how lovely. They "hot" and "sexy" too. Jeepers. I think it was the way the horror genre evolved that these two creatures just became less frightening. Even Predator and Aliens aren't as frightening anymore. As soon as any horror creature gets reason (such as Predator) and a code of ethics or something, they're not as scary. I bet zombies are next, you'll find some zombie who helps people in some movie or something, this sounds like it needs its own post. I'm getting way off topic.

lol, it's still gay, because my dick said so.

funny how the tags are "openness" "open "stubborn" "stupid"

Dukemich, this is coming from another kid currently reading the Twilight books and who has seen the movie. There is no getting around the fact that in the colloquial definition and perversion of the word gay that Twilight is gay. I'm not saying that that's necessarily right, but it's just the fact of the matter according to how our society defines gay. I like the books. I admit and I don't give a flying fuck who knows that. If other people can't accept that and all that, then whatever. The books aren't particularly great and pale in comparison to Harry Potter, but they're still an engaging way to pass the time. And whatever, man, if people want to call it gay, fuck it. It's not like I'm going around saying, "OMG! Edward's so hot! Make me a vampire!" I find Meyer's constant descriptions of the Adonis like gorgeousness of the vampires extremely irritating. But there is more to the books to that and I'm happy that New Moon introduces werewolves because they're so much cooler than vampires. So, yeah, I guess that's all I can say. Oh yeah, no matter how you slice it, no matter what kind of spin you try to put on it, no matter how you choose to define gay, it is absolutely one hundred percent gay that the vampires sparkle.

It's the targeted audience that makes gay. Marketing is what makes it gay. Just because something is popular doesn't mean it's good. I'm calling it a fad, because it is. It's audience is teenage girls and it draw them in with this unrealistically perfect man that every girl gets wet over. Then, every girlfriend on the planet compares their boyfriend to Edward, who is a fictional character.

Twilight is not the first nor the last story to do this. It's written for girls, by a girl, in order to promote feminist philosophies of the "ideal man." It does nothing good for us, Joe.

I do agree with you about the context of the word. It makes no sense, but it will forever be an innate part of our generation. It's just what we were dealt.

You just gave a definition of gay that means anything negative. The Twilight series is far from that. Every book has spent time at number #1 on the best sellers list. New Moon is one of the most anticipated movies of the year. The story is about vampires, werewolves, and two people who are in love. That is in fact the opposite of gay. It is a relationship about two straight individuals. That's not negative at all. The series itself is not gay. What you're saying is that guys showing interest in it is gay. That's just stupid because it's not a negative thing. You can't judge that. Only I can judge what's negative or positive for me. Again if you take the word as meaning homosexual, I'M NOT GAY. C'mon man you have a girlfriend. You've probably seen the movie. There's a lot worse out there than Twilight. Also, like I said in my post if you didn't see it you can't just dismiss it as gay. Criticize but don't just dismiss it as gay.

Actually, Twilight isn't gay. It's a series of novels (soon to be a series of movies) about a bunch of heterosexual teens. It revolves around a love story between a straight couple, Edward and Bella. The book is marketed to teenage girls; that's why there's a negative connotation associated with males enjoying Twilight. That is in no way fair. Men are capable of enjoying love stories and should even be encouraged to do so. Women complain all the time about how they wish men were more romantic. Well, if we mock them and question their sexuality when they do express an interest in romantic stories... what do you expect?

Gay is the catch all word of our generation for anything negative. They say it's all Eminem's fault.

Twilight <em>is</em> gay, and there's no helping it.
