Like Kobe Bryant before him, Ben Roethlisberger is being charged with sexual assault. He faces a civil lawsuit that he sexually assaulted a woman who was working as an executive casino host. She claims Roethlisberger called her to fix his televsion, then he blocked the door, and raped her. She claims she needed treatment for depression, but only decided to file a lawsuit now. In happened at a celebrity golf tournament on Lake Tahoe in Roethlisberger’s Harrah penthouse suite. She wants $440,000 minimum.
Well, I think this is bullshit just like the Kobe Bryant case. Ok, let’s use our brains here. A young woman gets seduced by a superstar. How would you react if a superstar wanted to have sex with you? Later, she may regret the decision if it violated her morals or if she already had a boyfriend/husband. The cop out: call it RAPE! That way, she gets money AND off the hook. Genius! Too bad it only took her a whole year to put the idea together. A little late huh?
Kobe Bryant didn’t rape anyone. Ben Roethlisberger didn’t rape anyone. They both had sex with women. Both women now regret their one night stand. PUH LEASE! I’m a big Steeler fan so I’m biased, what do you guys think?

The case sounds made up. My only problem is how it has become a Non-Story to ESPN and other outlets. It wasn’t this way for Kobe. Ray Lewis still carries around the title of “Murderer” even though he was clearly innocent… Too bad for Ray that he didn’t have sports outlets watching his back like Ben does…

i completely agree also, these women want their 15 minutes of fame and some benjamins in their wallet. Im not saying that every superstar criminal is innocent, but more often than not the cases are pretty ridiculous

Look at OJ, he’s not even recognized as a former athlete, he’s considered a former murderer who got off free. Some people don’t even know he played football.

YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT!!! There is no way that Big Ben raped anybody. You’re not biased at all. He’s not the type of person that would rape somebody. Same thing with the Kobe Bryant case. It’s just stupid. Every time Kobe Bryant is mentioned the only bad thing people can say about him is that he raped a girl which is not true. Of course I am a Lakers fan so maybe I’m biased but I don’t think so.
Notice that the timing of both accusations came at the top of their careers. Big Ben just won a Super Bowl. Kobe Bryant just won three championships in a row the last one in 2002. Then he was accused in 2003. All they’re doing is trying to get money and tarnish great players’ legacys.

I agree with you, but I wouldn’t defend them saying that their moral calibur is too high. I really don’t think too many superstars are “clean.” There is a very select few like Polamalu who likes to grow flowers and play the piano rather than go to the club with the guys haha. He’s a champ.
