AFC/NFC Championship

By: Dukemich

Can we get a good game? Can we get a good game? The only good game in the playoffs was the Cardinals vs. Packers. The rest have been blowouts and disgusting gameplay. Anyway the Vikings, Saints, Colts, and Jets advance. The Jets? The Jets? The Jets? I still don’t believe it. Let’s break it down.

Cardinals 14 vs. Saints 45

The Cardinals scored a quick touchdown but it meant nothing. The Saints played a solid game and proved they’ve been the best team in the NFC all year. Reggie Bush played really well with a couple touchdowns. One was a punt return. It was great to see the old Reggie Bush of USC making defenders miss and providing Chris Berman whop!!!! moments. The Cardinals never had a chance and didn’t belong on the field.

Ravens 3 vs. Colts 20

This game was painful to watch. The Colts were clearly the better team but came out rusty. The game would have been closer had Baltimore been able to finish one of its big plays. Literally every time the Ravens made a big play they fumbled or the refs called a penalty. Ed Reed intercepts the ball and fumbles at the end of the return. Ed Reed intercepts the ball and the refs call pass interference. Ray Rice gets a long run and he’s fighting for a couple extra yards and he fumbles. Penalty, pass interference, unnecessary roughness. This game was a joke. Nothing went right for the Ravens and the game was gift-wrapped for the Colts.

Cowboys 3 vs. Vikings 34

Some analysts are idiots. The Cowboys were the same team they were in the regular season very inconsistent and a barely above average team with a bad coach. They won a division that is comprised of mediocre teams. Just because they won their last three of the regular season doesn’t mean they were suddenly the best team in the NFC. In the last three games they beat a Saints team that didn’t care anymore. They beat the Redskins and the horribly inconsistent and disappointing Eagles. As much as I hate Minnesota I’m glad they showed the world what the Cowboys really are. Tony Romo was scared in the pocket. He was running ragged. The offense was stagnant. Favre led the Vikings’ offense with not much help from Adrian Peterson. He found Sydney Rice three times for a touchdown. Nothing new and the Cowboys should have sniffed it out. The Cowboys were scared and the game was an embarassment. Favre sang the “Pants on the Ground” song in the locker room after the game. I hate him but he played great and has not disappointed…yet.

Jets 17 vs. Chargers 14

The Jets shouldn’t have won this game. Nate Kaeding missed three field. Two were from distances of 40 and 36 yards. The Jets hung in, established the running game, and didn’t make mistakes. They did what was necessary to win and the Chargers didn’t. Bravo Jets but you are not that good. The Chargers laid an egg and still had a chance to win.

AFC Championship

VS.

Jets vs. Colts

THIS HAS TO END AT SOME POINT!!!! The Jets are not that good of a football team. They have a solid defense and a good running game. So STOP THE RUN AND THEY WON’T SCORE!!! Peyton Manning should pick the defense apart. The Colts should and will win this game but here’s what the Jets have to do to win. They have to run the ball efficiently. They have to hold the Colts to 20 points. Sanchez can’t throw any picks. If this happens the Jets have a shot. It’s the Colts without a doubt. They have Peyton Manning and will play against a similar offense that they manhandled a week earlier. They held the Ravens to three points. They stopped the run and put the game in Flacco’s hands. They just have to do the same with Sanchez. Another blowout.

Colts 27 Jets 6

NFC Championship

VS.

Vikings vs. Saints

Brett Favre’s run ends here. The Saints will not lose at the Superdome. This should be an excellent game. In the end I think the Saints will have a little more offense than the Vikings. Adrian Peterson has not been running well lately. He hasn’t had more than 100 yards rushing since week 10. From week 11 on he’s averaged about 72 yards a game. If Favre throws a pick the game is over. If Favre throws a pick against the Saints and the Vikings win I’ll post the Wrangler Jeans commercial at the top of the next three posts I write. The only way the Vikings will win is if Favre doesn’t throw a pick and they attack Drew Brees like they attacked Tony Romo last week. However, I believe the Saints have too many weapons on offense especially if Reggie Bush plays the way he did last week.

Saints 31 Vikings 28

I don’t care if my picks are wrong just give me some good football. Please give America some good football.

See ya.

  1. I can’t root for anyone who has fans located in this area. The Jets aren’t the best team, and the best team deserves to win the Super Bowl. If it’s Saints and Colts, the best team will win regardless.

  2. America, myself included, loves an underdog. I really hate to say this, but I’m actually rooting for the Jets. I can’t help it. It’d be epic if they won.
